Meeting tonight on proposed PA animal cruelty laws

Three legislative bills that would strengthen dog and animal cruelty laws in Pennsylvania will be discussed tonight in a public meeting.
State Rep. Bryan Lentz (D., Delaware) will host the discussion. Guest speakers include Bill Smith of Main Line Animal Rescue; Tom Hickey, a member of the governor's Dog Law Advisory Board, and Jessie Smith, a special deputy in the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement.
The bills would address minimum floor space for dog enclosures, access to outdoor exercise areas, tail docking and cutting of dog's vocal cords, and increased fines for animal cruelty.
The discussion will be held in room 4535 of Founder's Hall at Delaware County Community College, 901 S. Media Line Rd., Media, from 7 to 9 p.m.
