Sideshow: Director Mike Nichols has bypass

The New York Post says director Mike Nichols ( Carnal Knowledge , Charlie Wilson's War ) took a break from helming the Broadway production of Clifford Odets ' The Country Girl over the weekend, but not to take a day trip, or catch up on some chores. He had a coronary bypass. Nichols is recovering nicely in a New York hospital, with his wife, Diane Sawyer , by his side. "He is doing very well and they are extremely pleased with his recovery," his rep said.
Eddie's ex with an ex-Giant? Gossip blog Bossip.com claims Eddie Murphy 's ex, Nicole Murphy , is stepping out with the recently divorced NFL player Michael Strahan , who also recently retired from the New York Giants. No confirmation or comments from reps for either side.
